Program Information

The mission of MSU AgBioResearch is to engage in innovative, leading-edge research that combines scientific expertise with practical experience to generate economic prosperity, sustain natural resources and enhance the quality of life in Michigan, the nation and the world.

The success of MSU AgBioResearch is due to the efforts of outstanding researchers; close partnerships and collaborations with MSU Extension, seven MSU colleges, federal and state agencies, commodity groups and other key stakeholders; and exceptional legislative support.

Project GREEEN
Project GREEEN (Generating Research and Extension to meet Economic and Environmental Needs) is a collaborative effort by plant-based commodities and businesses in cooperation with AgBioResearch, MSU Extension, and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) to advance Michigan’s economy through its plant-based agriculture. Its mission is to develop research and educational programs, ensure and improve food safety and protect and preserve the quality of the environment.
